As we enter a month that would typically be full to the brim with the arrival of summer staff and campers, Camp feels especially quiet. For those who have been wondering, here is a brief update on the current status of operations and how we are looking to reopen later this summer.
Camp Friedenswald remains closed (including beaches and tent camping.)
Trails are open for hiking (no dogs or bikes, please). Note that restroom facilities and drinking fountains are closed, so plan accordingly. Please observe social distancing if you come upon other hikers.
As we move towards reopening, Camp staff are thoughtfully planning for ways that families might gather in the peaceful woods once again. While many of us have been “retreating” in our homes the past few months, a different kind of retreat in the peaceful woods might be what is needed. A time away that leaves you feeling renewed, and reconnected. As details are confirmed, and a timeline is clear, we will update you here with further information. We do know that limited spaces will be available.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we navigate reopening in this time. We hope to see you (from a distance) later this summer.
