We’re excited to welcome Kenda Sprunger to Camp Friedenswald! Kenda is serving as Administrative Assistant for programs and all manner of areas across Camp! Here are a few words from her – to you – as a way of introduction! Join us in welcoming Kenda to Friedenswald.

Hello all-
I am excited to be joining Friedenswald as the Camp Administrative Assistant. Camp Friedenswald holds a special place in my heart; I attended every year at Camp I could growing up! Even during my senior year of high school, I came as a camper. I loved every minute of it! The opportunity to return to Friedenswald and continue the work that Friedenswald does was an opportunity I couldn’t miss.

I grew up in Goshen and spent many years in retail pharmacy. After COVID, I took a step back to reevaluate what I needed and wanted from a job. I missed having a community that valued the whole person and wasn’t primarily driven by profit. I missed having an organization and coworkers that looked not just at people’s physical needs, but their spiritual and relational needs. I knew Friedenswald was a place where I would find a renewed sense of community and purpose.

As I get acclimated here at camp, I am enjoying getting to know the wonderful staff we have here. There are quite a few shared hobbies among us as well. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, walking/biking/playing with my dog. I love to learn new things and can’t wait to continue doing so here at Friedenswald.
