A week at Friedenswald provides campers the opportunity to:
- Be nourished in their faith journey
- Unplug from daily life and everyday stresses
- Experience the joys of community and deepening relationships
- Foster a love for nature and a commitment to care for creation
- Retreat, renew and reconnect – with God, self, others and nature
All of this happens through experiencing the daily rhythms of camp life alongside trained counselors and friends, and through a wide variety of fun and engaging activities. From an early morning polar bear swim to singing around the crackling fire in Mosquito Hollow, campers are invited into a community that celebrates the joys and wonders of God’s good creation. Other activities include active outdoor sports and games; creative arts & crafts; nature-based activities and hikes; swimming in the lake and boating.
High School Camp
June 9–14
In the midst of the fun of daily activities, nature hikes and beach time, campers are given the freedom to unplug from the distractions that commonly clutter our lives. High school campers will be challenged to get comfortable with quiet, make space to listen and to deepen relationships. Cabin groups build community through activities and sharing throughout the week.
Please note: High School Camp is for campers who will be entering grades 9-12 next fall and for graduating seniors.
Junior High Camp
June 16–21
Arts & crafts, nature activities, canoeing, and night hikes are among the fun adventures campers will experience. Time for reflection and worship are woven throughout the daily rhythms of camp life. Away from home and in the context of a caring camp community, campers have the opportunity to deepen and grow relationships, all while having FUN!
Please note: Junior High Camp is for campers who will be entering grades 7-8 next fall.
Pre-Junior Camp
June 23–26
This is the first opportunity for some of our youngest campers to experience Camp Friedenswald separate from their families. It involves a three night stay here at Camp with lots of fun activities, games, and adventures that will foster the development of a relationship with God, nature, fellow campers, and Camp Staff. Campers have the opportunity to develop new skills and friendships. Pre-junior campers learn rhythms of camp life with fun activities, beach time, cabin “kick back,” and campfire.
Please note: Pre-Junior Camp is for campers who will be entering grades 3-4 next fall.
Junior Camp
June 30–July 5
Junior campers will spend five nights in the peaceful woods as part of the camp community. With daily campfire, beach time, and a wide variety of activities catered to camper’s interests, it’s a week for deepening relationships, learning more about the world around us, and growing through new experiences.
Please note: Junior Camp is for campers who will be entering grades 5-6 next fall.
