This Summer is beginning to take its shape as the summer staff begins to arrive in the peaceful woods. Summer 2022’s leadership has been jumping into their roles over this past week as they settle back into camp and prepare to not only welcome the rest of the summer staff in the next couple of days but also the first youth camps of the year.
And as everyone has been hard at work, I would love to introduce this year’s summer leadership team (in alphabetical order):
Caroline Greaser ( Goshen College, Senior) joins camp for her second summer and first year on leadership as a Head Counselor. Caroline has grown up coming to camp, and has always seen herself working on staff in the summer. We’re excited to have her on staff as she shares her love of camp with her campers. Which might include showing them one of her favorite places here; the white dock by Main Beach.
Douglas Nester (Eastern Mennonite University, Graduate) returns to camp once again as Waterfront Director! This will mark his fourth year on staff, where we are glad to have him for another summer. It may be no surprise that Main Beach is his favorite place at camp, but in general he enjoys how coming here allows him to retreat away from the busy everyday life.
Patrick Estell (College of Wooster, Junior) is also a Head Counselor for this summer as he enters his second year on staff. He has been a camper here over the years and is excited to be here for another summer. In his freetime there is a good chance he is out exploring the trails at camp as well as seeing what birds and animals that live in the peaceful woods.
Shianne Harrison (Goshen College, Graduate ) is this year’s Communication’s Coordinator where she’ll be sharing with you Camp’s story for the summer. She is going into her fourth summer here at camp, and is excited to see how her first year on leadership goes. Even though she wouldn’t consider herself a morning person, early mornings on the dining hall lawn are one of her favorite things (especially with a cup of coffee in hand).
As the leadership brings a variety of strengths to the summer, we’re all excited to meet the rest of the summer staff as they begin to arrive in the next couple of days.
